IIt’s time once again to prepare for the coming school year, and on the Coastside, that means Backpacks. To make sure that
all the children in our community are ready for school and have what they need to learn, Holy
Family Episcopal Church, Community United Methodist Church, Coastside Jewish Community, Coastside Lutheran Church, , Coastside Hope, Kelly Ave. Catholic Worker, CUSD Migrant Family Education Program and other community groups are working together to collect school supplies and fill
backpacks for local children who cannot afford them. The backpacks will be stuffed, and the main distribution will take place on Saturday, August 13th, with additional distributions taking place over the next week or so.
We are still in need of cash donations. These donations go toward purchasing the backpacks and other supplies. For your
convenience, we’re offering this Donate button, so that you can make a quick donation with either your credit card or you PayPal account (if you have one).
Note: Holy Family Episcopal Church manages the cash donations for the Backpack Project, but all the money donated -- whether by
check or through this site – goes for the Backpacks, and is tax deductible. Your donation receipt will be emailed to you within minutes, your email address will not be used for any other
